Environmental Studies Department

The Department of Environmental Studies since its inception stands as a dynamic academic space dedicated to nurturing ecological awareness, critical thinking, and responsible citizenship in an era of pressing environmental challenges. Established in alignment with the transformative vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the department caters to interdisciplinary environmental education across undergraduate programmes. The department currently offers Environmental Studies courses for First Year undergraduate students across B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com., and for Second Year B.A. and B.Sc. programmes. These courses are thoughtfully designed to integrate environmental concepts with diverse academic backgrounds, ensuring that learners from all streams develop a comprehensive understanding of sustainability, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and resource management. Rooted in both theoretical foundations and practical engagement, the department emphasizes experiential learning through real world examples, project-based assignments, and participatory activities such as presentations and environmental campaigns.
