Department of Computer Science

About Department :

The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2001, followed by the Department of Computer Science in 2002, with the aim of providing quality education in the field of computing and emerging technologies. The Department of Information Technology and Computer Science is committed to delivering quality education in computing and emerging technologies, with a focus on both academic excellence and practical skill development. The department follows the university-prescribed curriculum, ensuring a balanced approach to theoretical concepts and hands-on learning in areas such as programming, data structures, databases, networking, and software development. Both programs complement each other, where Computer Science emphasizes algorithms and core computing concepts, while Information Technology focuses on practical implementation and real-world applications. The department is supported by well-equipped computer laboratories, updated software, and ICT-enabled teaching-learning methods such as presentations, e-resources, and practical sessions to enhance student engagement. The department encourages research and innovation among students and faculty. Faculty members have guided students for research initiatives like Avishkar 2025, promoting analytical and problem-solving skills. Faculty have also contributed as technical experts in National Conferences and have participated in International Conferences, enhancing academic exposure and knowledge sharing. The department ensures effective mentoring and academic guidance for students, including supervision of final-year (TY) projects as assigned by the Head of Department, ensuring timely completion and quality outcomes. Various co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as workshops, seminars, project exhibitions, and technical competitions are organized to support holistic student development. The department promotes industry readiness through project-based learning, internships, and skill enhancement activities, bridging the gap between academia and industry. Continuous internal evaluation, student mentoring, and participation in institutional activities contribute to the overall academic growth and quality enhancement in line with NAAC guidelines.
